Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join our workshop team. The Pipe Fitter will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing piping systems and components according to workshop specifications and technical drawings. The ideal candidate will have expertise in pipe fitting, the ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, and experience with tack welding. Adherence to safety and quality standards is essential.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, including isometric drawings, to determine pipe fitting requirements and layout.
- Assemble and install pipes, fittings, valves, and related components according to specifications.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to fit within the workshop setup and ensure proper alignment.
- Perform tack welding to temporarily secure pipe components and ensure proper alignment before final welding.
- Ensure tack welds are completed accurately and securely, meeting quality standards for subsequent welding operations.
- Conduct pressure tests and other inspections to ensure that installed piping systems are leak-proof and meet quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair pipe systems and components as needed, addressing issues such as leaks, blockages, or misalignments.
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment in the workshop.
- Adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations related to pipe fitting and workshop safety.
- Maintain and calibrate pipe fitting tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality and accuracy.
- Perform routine maintenance on workshop tools and machinery to prevent malfunctions and ensure reliability.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or deviations from specifications to the workshop supervisor.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project status, challenges, and requirements.
Skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, including isometric drawings.
- Strong knowledge of pipe fitting techniques, tack welding, and safety practices.
- Ability to use pipe fitting tools and equipment accurately.
Requirements:
- +2 years experience
- Must be Welder Certified
- Legally authorized to work in the USA.
- Able to pass Drug and Alcohol Test.
