Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Vessel Fitter to join our workshop team. The Vessel Fitter will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing components and systems within vessels such as tanks, boilers, and pressure vessels. This role requires expertise in vessel fitting, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and strong problem-solving skills. Adherence to safety and quality standards is essential.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and isometric drawings to determine vessel fitting requirements and layout.
- Assemble and install vessel components, including tanks, boilers, and pressure vessels, according to specifications.
- Measure, cut, and align components to ensure accurate assembly and fit within the vessel.
- Perform welding tasks, including tack welding, on vessel components as required to ensure proper alignment and fit.
- Fabricate and modify vessel parts and systems to meet project requirements.
- Conduct pressure tests, leak tests, and other inspections to ensure that assembled vessels meet quality and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair vessel systems and components as needed, addressing issues such as leaks, misalignments, and component failures.
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment in the workshop.
- Adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations related to vessel fitting, fabrication, and safety.
- Maintain and calibrate vessel fitting tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality and accuracy.
- Perform routine maintenance on workshop tools and machinery to prevent malfunctions and ensure reliable operation.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or deviations from specifications to the workshop supervisor.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project status, challenges, and requirements.
Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and isometric drawings.
- Strong knowledge of vessel fitting techniques, welding, and safety practices.
- Ability to use vessel fitting tools and equipment accurately.
Requirements:
- +2 years experience
- Must be Welder Certified
- Legally authorized to work in the USA.
- Able to pass Drug and Alcohol Test.
